UFC legend Tito Ortiz just got Baptized and publicly embraced Christianity

The roar of the crowd and the bright lights of the octagon have given way to something far more profound for Tito Ortiz. On August 12, 2025, the former UFC champion took perhaps the most significant step of his life when he was baptized at the Midpoint Bridge in Fort Myers, Florida.

Standing alongside his wife Amber in the Florida waters, Ortiz publicly declared his commitment to Jesus Christ in a moment that he describes as the beginning of a new chapter filled with purpose and renewal.

In a heartfelt social media post following his baptism, Ortiz shared the depth of his spiritual journey with his followers. “My beautiful wife Amber and I opened our hearts fully to the Lord. We gave everything to Him — our joys, our struggles, and our family,” he wrote.

The former light heavyweight champion’s message continued with profound gratitude for how his relationship with God has strengthened his marriage and personal resilience. “Through every challenge, every mistake, and every victory, God has brought us closer and made us stronger. From this day forward, we walk in faith, together, until the end of time,” Ortiz declared.

Ortiz’s message concluded with an invitation. “My prayer is that one day you too will welcome Him into your life as we have on this day,” he wrote.

The timing of Ortiz’s spiritual awakening resonates particularly strongly given the recent experiences of other athletes who have found solace and direction through faith during challenging periods. Ben Askren recently shared his own journey to Christianity after years of accompanying his wife to church.

“I woke up and I started as a Christian. I hadn’t gone with my wife to church for 15 years—that was part of the deal. I said, ‘I’m not a Christian, but I will support you.’ When I woke up, I knew I had to do it,” Askren said in a social media post.
