Former UFC champion BJ Penn was arrested on harassment charges following a series of unusual claims that his family members have been murdered and replaced by imposters wearing “ultra real disguises.”
The 46-year-old mixed martial arts icon recently shared a video of his own arrest on social media, where he claimed to be a target of what he termed “impostor theft” in Hawaii.
“In Hawaii, ‘impostor theft’ refers to instances where individuals falsely impersonate others, often to steal their identity or commit fraudulent acts,” Penn wrote in the caption of the video documenting his interaction with law enforcement.
The arrest comes after Penn made several concerning posts claiming his mother Lorraine Shin and brothers Jay Dee, Reagan, and Kalani Mamazuka had been replaced by individuals using sophisticated disguise technology.
“Let’s see how many ‘company men’ cry babies come on here and ignore the true application of these ultra real disguises for oppression,” Penn wrote in a recent Instagram post. “I’m not here for that s**t.”
The Hawaiian appears convinced that physical differences he observes in his family members indicate they are not the same people he once knew. Penn also referenced “fake kids not Penn blood” in his social media posts.
This incident follows other controversial statements by Penn, including his rejection of CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) as a legitimate condition despite widespread scientific evidence of its prevalence in combat sports.

The former welterweight and lightweight champion has sparked significant concern among fans and the MMA community. Social media responses to his posts have included pleas for him to seek help, with one Instagram user commenting, “Pretty sure a DNA test could help you sleep at night,” while another wrote, “GET HELP MY MAN.”
Penn’s recent behavior has prompted public expressions of worry about his well-being from numerous supporters across his social media platforms.
The star, who competed at the highest levels of MMA for nearly two decades, has not made any public statements following his arrest.
