Former UFC star Darren Till is facing waves of criticism from fans after a recent video of him shadow boxing went viral on social media ahead of his upcoming bout with Tommy Fury.
The footage, shared by Misfits Boxing on their social platforms, shows a shirtless Till practicing his boxing technique. However, instead of generating excitement for the January 18 matchup at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena, the clip has sparked a flurry of comments about Till’s physical appearance.
Social media users were quick to share their opinions, with one writing, “Darren actually looks like a 50yr dad shadow boxing in his living room.” Another commented, “Does he even train he has the body shape of a 60 year old man.”
Some fans came to Till’s defense, with one supporter offering perspective: “Don’t think people are realising it’s fairly normal to not be in shape all year round as a fighter. Plenty of people active in boxing and MMA are like this. His camp will probs only just starting maybe even in a couple of weeks – weight will drop off.”
The Liverpudlian, who holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 18-5, will face off against the undefeated Fury, who last competed in October 2022 against KSI.
Fury expressed confidence about the upcoming match, stating: “This is extra special as I am the A-side and headlining a massive event in my hometown and in front of my fans, at Co-op Live. Till had a good UFC career but he’s stepping into the boxing ring now, against a proper pro, and he will quickly realise that he is out of his depth.”

Till offered a more concise response to his opponent’s comments, simply stating: “January 18 is my time, my night.”
The matchup will mark Till’s second boxing appearance, following his victory over Mohammad Mutie in July, while Fury maintains an undefeated record of 10 wins, including four knockouts.
