One athlete had a very memorable faceoff during the UFC 277 staredowns.
The main event of UFC 277 will take place Saturday night in Dallas. This is where Julianna Pena will defend her women’s bantamweight title against Amanda Nunes.
Kai Kara-France and Brandon Moreno will square off for the interim flyweight championship in the co-main event. In a heavyweight event, Texas native Derrick Lewis will square off against Sergei Pavlovich.
The UFC 277 press conference, which was held on Thursday and was followed by the actual staredowns, served to further promote the event.
The main event saw Pena and Nunes engaging in a fierce but courteous staredown. Lewis, though, had the most memorable staredown.
Lewis has never failed to keep the crowd entertained. He demonstrated why he is one of the athletes on the roster who is most beloved by fans during the previous ceremonial face-offs.
At UFC 277, heavyweight Derrick Lewis will face Sergei Pavlovich of Russia. For the spectators, this is one of the most awaited battles.
During his staredown with Sergei, Derrick made the decision to play a practical joke on the boss, Dana White. If there is one thing that White dreads more than anything else, it is for an altercation to start up between the athletes during the face offs
Lewis has a history of getting in his opponent’s face. Lewis wanted to punk Dana and his adversary this weekend even though he had no ill will toward Sergei.
Sergei and Derrick were locked in strong eye contact, and Derrick did nothing more than giving the Russian athlete a pump fake strike. Despite Sergei’s lack of response to Derrick’s fake, Dana definitely turned red, which was funny to see.
After that, laughter abounded.
