UFC 276: Alex Pereira lights up Sean Strickland to get KO finish in R1

Sean Strickland was all mouth in lead up to UFC 276 – but when it came down to it it was Pereira that stole the show.

Pereira is 3 inches taller and has a 3 inch reach advantage. He’s also 3 years older than Strickland. He was a +105 underdog coming into it. Strickland was -125.

Both started off in the orthodox stance. Strickland took the center of the cage and wanted to stand and bang. Pereira softened him up with kicks and started off with a jab.

The flurry of kicks seemed to stun Strickland – who was noticeably smaller. Strickland tried to pressure but Pereira got his jab going. Big left hook floored Strickland.

Pereira didn’t let him get up – instead landed two excellently timed shots to floor Strickland again and that was all it took for the ref to call it.

Alex Pereira quickly sent Sean Strickland into the shadow realm with the signature left hook and follow up right straight in the 1st round.

Pereira ended up pulling in Joe Rogan for a celebratory pic after the interview.
