Joe Rogan has been weathering a media storm caused by resurfacing of his old clips. While many believe that Rogan is an alt right media troll his friends in the independent journalism have stuck by him.
And his longtime friends and the UFC have bailed on him – thanks to their corporate overlords. You might remember that The Rock pulled his endorsement of Rogan. This is perhaps a good gage of how William Morris Endeavor aka Endeavor (UFC’s parent company sees Rogan).
Rogan has been pulled from UFC 271 commentary late with a shoddy explanation about “scheduling conflicts” as if Rogan’s comedy tour schedule wasn’t very public. Rogan has remained silent on the subject. He’s still scheduled to be doing commentary for UFC 272 as of right now.
Bisping was tapped to be the late replacement for the legendary commentator. While Bisping is an adequate replacement in the commentary booth – Cormier is far inferior cage interviewer for the post fight interviews.
The infamously anti woke crowd of the UFC isn’t taking too kindly to ESPN / Disney tactics and has been chanting sporadically their support for the comedian.
It’s unclear if UFC will be backing Rogan in future, once the media cancellation storm dies down.
