It’s the end of a journey for the 39 year old Roxanne Modafferi. Modafferi is a true veteran of the womens MMA having fought for the last 10 years. Her record coming into the fight was 29 wins and 19 losses. Somehow she was matched with the undefeated flyweight prospect Casey O’Neill. Casey was 8-0 coming into the fight.
O’Neill’s nose got bloodied up early on. Round one was mainly stand up fighting. O’Neil landed slightly more but Modafferi was no slouch.
Modafferi was getting touched up for the majority of round 2 however she was still landing plenty – including a takedown at the very end of round 2.
In the end the fight went to a decision and the judges gave the advantage to O’Neill.
