Former UFC light heavyweight champion and Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz recently opened up about the chronic pain that plagued him throughout his legendary 25-year combat career. He hilariously described the persistent discomfort as having “a toothache all the time in your neck or your midback all the time.”
In an interview with The Schmo in Las Vegas, Ortiz revealed the extent of his physical struggles and how revolutionary stem cell treatment has transformed his quality of life. The pain was so severe that it affected his most basic functions, including sleep patterns that had been disrupted for over a decade and a half.
“I couldn’t sleep on my right side. I couldn’t sleep on my back. I could only sleep on my left side,” Ortiz explained. The former champion described how this constant discomfort was “draining,” affecting not just his athletic performance but his overall well-being.
The breakthrough came when Ortiz received stem cell treatment from CPI Performance Institute approximately a year ago. The results were nothing short of life-changing for the 49-year-old fighter. “My neck is 100%. Like I have zero pain. Like literally like I have no pain at all. No pain in my back. Like nothing,” he enthusiastically shared.
This improvement has allowed Ortiz to reclaim activities he hadn’t been able to enjoy for years. “I could sleep on my stomach at night. I never could do that for 15 years,” he said, highlighting how the treatment restored basic comforts that many take for granted. The transformation has also enabled him to fulfill his role as head wrestling coach at IDEA High School, where he can now actively engage with his student athletes.
“I can wrestle with the kids because I’m the head coach,” Ortiz noted, expressing gratitude. The pain relief has been so significant that it has even sparked thoughts of a potential return to competition, with Ortiz playfully suggesting a fight at the White House against Andrew Tate.
Ortiz credits CPI Performance Institute for developing what he calls “a different generation” of stem cell innovation. “The innovation they’ve done through that company is just amazing,” he said, emphasizing how the treatment “changed my life” and “saved me.”
His journey from debilitating chronic pain to complete relief serves as a testament to advancing medical treatments and offers hope to other fighters dealing with similar issues.
Tito is now pain-free and actively coaching the next generation of wrestlers while running a restaurant named ‘Tito’s Cantina’ in Cape Coral, Florida.
