Swaggerjacked? Kevin Lee believes Jon Jones was paying ‘homage’ to him with UFC 286 outfit

Kevin Lee recently rejoined the UFC after exploring other opportunities. He was absent from the UFC for a while and has suspected he was a victim of retaliation. Lee and Ngannou shared an agent at the time of his release, and the agent was locked in tense negotiations.

Lee has since moved teams and is happy to be back at the company, and recovered from ACL surgeries.

His latest ‘hit’ was him  expressing a belief that Jon Jones paid tribute to him at the UFC 285 press conference held earlier this month. Lee claims that Jones wore attire similar to what Lee wore at a press conference in 2017.

Jones made a triumphant return to UFC 285, submitting Ciryl Gane in just two minutes. Lee and Jones have had a few interactions in the past, one of which was at the aforementioned press conference where Lee wore a distinctive black and white shirt.

During the press conference for UFC 285, Jon Jones appeared to be wearing something similar, and Lee interpreted it as a tribute to him.

Despite their past differences, Lee acknowledged Jones’ gesture, telling Schmo, “Me and Jon ain’t never really got along too well, but I see he wore what I wore to the press conference that was nice. That was a nice little shout-out from the G.O.A.T. So; I’m going with Jon. Yeah, pound for pound, he’s the best.”

Lee further confirmed that he was referring to the style of the shirt he wore, which Jones also appeared to like. Lee appreciated the homage paid by Jones and expressed his respect for him.
