During a recent livestream from Miami, Adin Ross addressed the growing legal tension surrounding the controversial Adam22 vs. Jason Luv boxing match. He revealed that sponsors were unhappy with how the main event unfolded and were actively reviewing contractual options.
Ross explained that backlash stemmed from Adam22’s performance in the ring, which many viewers and sponsors felt fell far short of expectations.
“You guys were not happy with the main event the way it went, right?” Ross said during the stream. “Adam didn’t throw a punch. I spoke with Adam about it and I said, ‘Adam, you didn’t throw a punch.’”
According to Ross, the issue wasn’t just fan disappointment. It escalated into a serious contractual discussion behind the scenes. Sponsors reportedly questioned whether Adam22’s lack of engagement violated clauses tied to competitive effort.
“That was really upsetting,” Ross said, adding that sponsors immediately began asking, “Is there anything in this contract… where we can?”
Ross confirmed that such a clause does exist.
“There is something in the contract that does state: if you don’t try and you don’t give it your all, you lose some of your purse,” he revealed.
The situation prompted direct conversations with Adam22, as organizers weighed the consequences of what they perceived as a non-competitive showing.
Ross emphasized that entering the ring without genuinely attempting to compete creates serious problems not just reputationally, but legally.
“Truth be told, if you go in the ring and you don’t really do what everyone’s expecting you to do and try, there’s a lot of problems,” Ross said.
While Ross suggested that organizers were cautious about escalating the issue publicly, he also made it clear that repeated incidents wouldn’t be overlooked.
“One thing I did say was, we don’t want to look sweet,” Ross stated bluntly. “We don’t want to just basically… we gotta make examples out of motherf**kers.”
Although Ross did not confirm whether legal action would ultimately move forward, his comments made it clear that attorneys were reviewing the situation closely.
