Sean Strickland under investigation in Las Vegas for assaulting a pedestrian, Covington claims

Colby Covington has recently stirred the MMA community once again by alleging that former middleweight champion Sean Strickland is embroiled in a legal debacle following an incident in Las Vegas.

Covington is known for his outspoken nature, and did not hold back in his recent remarks about Sean Strickland. He accused Strickland of being unfit for their division and suggested that his behavior might be attributed to head injuries. Covington asserted that Strickland was under investigation in Las Vegas for assaulting a pedestrian and predicted that he would face legal consequences.

Covington said in a recent podcast: “He was a washout in my division, he couldn’t handle it in my division, he got beat up, knocked out because he couldn’t cut it. I think he’s a bum, he’s been hit in the head too many times, he’s got CTE. Anything that guy says you can’t follow along, that guys going literally probably going to kill someone someday.”

“He’s under investigation right now in Vegas. Some drunk guy was wandering the streets near his home, he goes outside the home, pistol-whips the dude in the middle of the street. He’s under crazy investigation in Vegas right now. He’s gonna be going to court.”

A few months back, Sean Strickland was involved in an altercation where he held a man at g*npoint. He was trying to hide between the two cars. However, it’s unclear if this is the incident Covington referenced.

Strickland’s actions led to the man’s arrest by the police, but whether Covington’s claims align with this particular event remains uncertain. Nevertheless, Covington seems convinced that Strickland will face legal repercussions.

Stickland has not yet responded to Covington’s allegations as of this writing, and it is unclear whether he will.

Colby Covington recently suffered a disappointing decision loss to Leon Edwards at UFC 296, where he competed for the welterweight title. Despite this setback, Covington has been actively pursuing his next opponent. He has expressed interest in facing Ian Machado Garry at International Fight Week in June.

Covington is currently ranked fourth in the welterweight division and has a record of 12-4 inside the Octagon. Throughout his career, he has secured notable victories against renowned competitors such as Jorge Masvidal, Tyron Woodley, Robbie Lawler, Rafael dos Anjos, and Demian Maia.
