Sean Strickland: Jon Jones is the GOAT, but he chokes women

UFC middleweight Sean Strickland shared his opinion on former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Strickland acknowledges that Jones is an impressive athlete, but condemns his abusive behavior.

Sean Strickland argued with former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold during the build up for their canceled bout in 2021. They discussed who is worthy to be entitled The Greatest of All Time. Rockhold believes his former teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov is the GOAT.

Meanwhile, Sean Strickland had a different opinion. During a recent interview in Helen Yee Sports, the 31-year-old suggested it should be Jon Jones. Of course, Strickland didn’t just praise someone without talking about their wickedness.

‘Tarzan’ went on to joke about himself choking women while making out.”

“I mean, I like to choke women too, but it’s more consensual, we agree to it, they’re into it, they’re the ones telling me, ‘Harder.’ But he’s more of a non-consensual type.” Strickland added.

“I’m talking to all you Khabib fans out there 15 world titles to your guy’s four. And you guys are really talking about who’s the best fighter ever? You guys are joking, right? 15 to 4? Are you guys kidding me?”

“The only person that could possibly come back and challenge my record and what I’ve done in the UFC is possibly Georges St-Pierre.” Jon Jones said while making his case to be considered the Greatest of all time several years back.

Jon ‘Bones’ Jones is arguably undefeated in his MMA career. His only loss came from a disqualification stemming from him delivering an illegal elbow against Matt Hamill in 2009. However, many refuse to consider him as greatest of all time due to PED strikes that have been following him around. Of course, he also had a great deal of legal controversies.

Jon Jones is expected to return in September against Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight interim title. As for Strickland, he will be facing middleweight prospect Alex Pereira at UFC 276 in July.
