Rose Namajunas gets smoked and submitted under a minute in BJJ return

Rose Namajunas made her long awaited return to competition after that infamous flop against Carla Esparza.

The match took place at Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena and was streamed on UFC’s subscription service.

Namajunas (11-5) has been sidelined since losing her UFC belt to Esparza in a perplexing five-round performance this past May at UFC 274.

She was matched against Gillian Robertson. Robertson (11-7) last fought in September with a second-round technical submission win over Mariya Agapova at UFC Vegas 60. She is renowned for having the most submission wins in UFC women’s history and the most finishes in UFC women’s flyweight division.

She proved her dominance once again tonight, steamrolling Namajunas in under a minute.

Namajunas was dismayed after the loss and many MMA fans deemed her ‘not a good sport’. She seemed displeased about the fact that her longtime fiance Pat Barry also lost earlier that same night.

Overall the event was a success with Chase Hopper submitting UFC veteran Hall of famer Clay Guida in the co-main.
