Rampage Jackson Claims UFC Secretly Changed His Contract After He Made $7M vs Chuck Liddell: “Dana Doesn’t Like Paying”

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has made startling allegations about his time with the promotion. He claimed that the organization altered his contract after discovering how much money he earned from his blockbuster bout against Chuck Liddell.

During a recent livestream, Jackson revealed that he made approximately $7 million for his clash with Liddell, a figure that apparently caught UFC brass off guard.

According to the MMA veteran, this substantial payday came as a result of the UFC honoring the contract he brought over from another organization.

“When they found out I made that type of money, I’m gonna say it, I’m gonna say it. They changed my contract without me knowing,” Jackson stated, making the serious accusation against the promotion.

The former champion explained that the UFC had inherited his previous contract when they acquired him from another organization, and the financial terms apparently slipped past their initial review.

“They brought my contract from another organization. They weren’t paying attention,” Jackson said.

When pressed about whether he continued earning similar amounts after that revelation, Jackson was definitive in his response. “No more after that,” he confirmed, suggesting his compensation took a significant downturn following the Liddell bout.

Jackson also offered his broader perspective on UFC’s compensation practices, stating, “They don’t like to pay people what they’re worth.” He acknowledged that while there may be business considerations at play, the promotion’s approach to athlete compensation remains a point of contention.

The allegations raise serious questions about contract management and athlete relations during Jackson’s era with the promotion. If accurate, the claims suggest that contractual obligations may have been modified without proper notification or consent from the athlete.

Jackson’s frustrations with MMA pay become even more stark when contrasted with his recent success in streaming. During a high-profile 24-hour livestream with popular creator N3on, Rampage accidentally revealed that he was being paid roughly $1 million for the collaboration.

In an unguarded moment caught on stream, Jackson remarked: “You’re paying me like $2 million for two drives.” He was quickly corrected off-camera, with someone responding, “We were at one, but we’ll talk about it after.”

Additionally, Jackson has openly stated that he has made more money in just eight months of streaming than in 25 years of professional MMA. “I’ve only been streaming for eight months and I’ve made more from streaming in eight months than I did in fighting in 25 years. 100%,” Jackson said during a livestream.

This only reinforces his long-held belief that UFC competitors are undervalued by their organization.
