Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has made accusations against popular MMA content creator MMA Guru, claiming the commentator revealed racist tendencies while discussing the controversial incident involving Jackson’s son Raja.
During his first public live commentary addressing the situation, Jackson didn’t hold back in his criticism of MMA Guru’s response to the wrestling event controversy that has dominated headlines. The veteran expressed particular outrage at what he perceives as racially charged language used by the content creator.
“But people like MMA Guru, you know what I’m saying? That guy is supposed to be some kind of journalist, and his racism came out. His racism’s showing, you know what I’m saying?” Jackson stated during the livestream. “It’s 2025, you know what I’m saying? People do s**t, people do s**t. And it’s where some people mess up, some people do s**t. It shouldn’t get turned into race.”
“I’m from the south. The stuff he said, only racist people say,” he declared, though he declined to repeat the specific comments that triggered his response.
The former champion expressed particular concern about how MMA Guru’s platform could influence perceptions of future competitions. “MMA Guru, he has a platform. And he should say neutral, because he’s giving his opinions on matches and stuff like that. So now people are going to be watching him when black competitors compete and the stuff he say,” Jackson warned.
While Jackson acknowledged that internet criticism comes with public life, he drew a clear distinction between general negative commentary and what he views as racially motivated attacks. “There’s a lot of like ignorant people on the internet, I understand that. It is what it is, the stuff don’t affect me, don’t bother me,” he explained.
The situation has apparently extended beyond just MMA Guru’s commentary, with Jackson revealing he has received direct messages containing what he describes as racist content from multiple sources. However, he emphasized that such messages don’t impact him personally because he dismisses the opinions of those he considers prejudiced.
Jackson’s most pointed criticism centered on MMA Guru’s professional responsibility as someone with media influence. “Nobody wants to hear a bunch of racist stuff about their son, no matter what race they are. He must don’t have kids himself,” Jackson said.
The controversy stems from an incident at a California wrestling event where Raja Jackson was involved in an altercation with veteran wrestler Syko Stu. The LAPD has confirmed they are investigating the matter, though no arrests have been made at this time.
Jackson previously expressed mixed feelings about the incident, stating he doesn’t condone his son’s actions while maintaining his role as a supportive father. The former champion had hoped to eventually meet with the injured wrestler to offer a personal apology.
