Rafael Fiziev 10-7s Justin Gaethje after Gaethje refuses match up

Two UFC lightweight contenders underwent nose surgery earlier this summer.

While Fiziev got his nose retooled during the bout against Rafael Dos Anjos, which he won convincingly, Gaethje opted for the surgery for his own benefit.

Gaethje has had trouble breathing through his nose ever since he broke it in wrestling in college.

“I need my nose broken,” he explained. I haven’t been able to breathe through my nose for like 12 years since wrestling.”

Fiziev had called out Gaethje after the victory over Dos Anjos but to no avail. Despite reports that the bout was in the works Gaethje’s manager denied the reports.

Fiziev is currently ranked at number 7 while Gaethje is ranked at number 3. With the pending clash between Oliveira and Makhachev much of the division is tied up. Meanwhile White discussed Michael Chandler as his ideal opponent for McGregor’s return.

McGregor’s return is the biggest earning opportunity however it’s still quite a while away with him being absent from USADA pool. It’s projected to be happening sometime next year.

6th ranked Beniel Dariush will be clashing with Gamrot at UFC 280 – and Mike Chandler is currently booked to meet Dustin Poirier at UFC 281 despite initial reports that he’ll be transitioning to welterweight.

Fiziev was rather ruthless in his Gaethje diss implying that perhaps Gaethje was eager to please Conor McGregor over a young up and comer all while sharing a video McGregor shared earlier this summer believed to be McGregor engaging in romantic activity with his fiance.
