Yesterday we reported about the revelation that Petr Yan won’t be able to have his usual corner at UFC 273 Yan’s cornermen are reportedly denied visas. One silver lining being the fact that Yan’s visa is approved.
His Russian team had their visas denied recently but his visa wasn’t. This was first reported by Tass’ Igor Lazorin.
While many speculated that Yan would go on to be cornered by fellow countryman Khabib Nurmagomedov we speculated he would up the presence of American Top Team in his corner. But it appears Yan has different plans.
In order to secure a victory against Aljamain Sterling, Yan opted to enlist the help of former bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo.
Cejudo has had no problem coaching champions of the divisions he previously ruled. In addition to Yan, he’s also a trusted person in the corner of current champion Deiveson Figueiredo.
UFC 273 happens April 9th – it will be headlined by the clash between Volkanovski and Korean Zombie. In addition to them we’ll also be able to watch Gilbert Burns vs Khamzat Chimaev and Mackenzie Dern against Tecia Torres.
