Paul Daley Weighs In On fight against Dillon Danis

Longtime MMA veteran Paul Daley went on an Instagram post to comment about a potential upcoming fight against Dillon Danis.

In the post, Daley comments that he is not opposed to fighting Danis, but the purse has to be right for fighting a ‘potential PPV star’.

Daley has recently gone on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani to announce that his upcoming fight on May 13 at Bellator London will be the last fight before he retires.

“Yep, May 13th will be my last one. It will be my retirement fight.” Daley told the MMA journalist – “After many years in the game, you know, the hours on the road, hours in the gym – the years have caught up with me and now every morning I wake up with a bad back.”

“I’m just tired.”

“I’ve put in a lot of time in the sport and I’m in a position to retire, fortunately. So yeah, I’m going to retire. I don’t want to be one of those fighters who’s getting knocked out all the time by the younger guys. I want to be a guy who goes out when I want to go out.”

After almost 20 years of fighting professionally, Daley has more than 60 fights in his career and holds an impressive record of 43-18-2, including 34 knockouts.

On the opposite side of his MMA journey. Dillon Danis is at the very beginning of his MMA career. Dillon hasn’t fought since 2019, and only has two fights in his and holds a record of 2-0, all via submission.

Daley has been scheduled to fight on May 13th in London for Bellator, but his opponent has not yet been announced by the organization.
