Paddy Pimblett to face Jordan Leavitt on this summer’s UFC London card

There were speculations that young up and comer Paddy Pimblett would be facing Ali Abdelaziz client Ottman Azaitar for his next fight. Much like with Ilia Topuria, there seemed to be some bad blood there.

But ultimately they went in another direction.

UFC has revealed that the next opponent for Paddy Pimblett is 26 year old American. Pimblett has an official clash with Jordan Leavitt on the books for UFC London card scheduled for 23rd July.

What is Jordan Leavitt’s UFC record?

Jordan Leavitt (26) is a mixed martial artist hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada. He’s amounted a record consisting of 10 wins and a single loss in his MMA career. He’s been with the UFC since December of 2020.

Leavitt is also bound to make peanuts – considering he made it onto the UFC roster following a stint on Dana White’s contender series.

Since then Leavitt has amounted a 3-1 record in the UFC, losing to Claudio Puelles via decision in 20221.

UFC lightweight prospect Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett has won both of his UFC bouts. However, many side-eye the fact that Pimblett’s previous opponents were released after a single bout in the UFC.

While Pimblett shouldn’t be criticized for not gunning to be a top ranked guy on a contract that promises $12k to show and $12k to win, his skill has yet to really match his star power. In either of his bouts – Pimblett had serious moments of adversity.

Paddy Pimblett seems to be a fan of Sean O’Malley and is letting his lowball contract play out. He’s been vocal that he’s currently making more money outside the octagon than within. Pimblett is rumored to have a lucrative deal with Barstool sports.

But unlike O’Malley – Pimblett isn’t watchin his weight. He famously gorges on fast food in between training camps.

Pimblett weighs in at 155lbs. He's been open about walking around at 205lbs.

Paddy Pimblett doesn’t think it’s fair that he received near-average earnings compared to the excitement he brought for the promotion. Pimblett has revealed that he got paid $24,000 for his second appearance inside the octagon not counting the bonus he secured that night.

Given that, it looks like the UFC is planning to feed him with low ranked fighters, or rather a fairly new UFC fighter to finish current contract. For Pimblett’s third outing, the UFC booked him with Jordan Leavitt.

Jordan Leavitt joined the UFC through the Dana White Contender Series in 2020. Since then, the 26-year-old has gone 3-1 within the promotion. His last bout was last month at UFC Vegas 51, winning the fight against Trey Ogden via unanimous decision. His one and only loss was against Peruvian athlete Claudio Puelles in June 2021. In his professional career, Jordan Leavitt has a total score consisting of 10 wins and 1 loss.

Pimblett and Levitt will clash at UFC Fight Night 211 on July 23 in London, England. The event will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between top rank fighters Curtis Blaydes and Tom Aspinall.
