(Video) Nate Diaz Slaps reporter without provocation

UFC welterweight star Nate Diaz recently had a violent outburst backstage at UFC 276. He gave a reporter a good smack for badmouthing one of his teammates.

Nate Diaz attended UFC 276 last night at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. The Stockton native was wandering around backstage while the event was going. He was approached by the Full Send podcast to have an interview.

The interviewer asked a couple of things to Diaz. However, Diaz was a bit triggered when the interviewer asked if he was there to see UFC bantamweight rising star Sean O’Malley. Nate Diaz can be heard mumbling before slapping the mic of the interviewer, followed by a good slap to his face.

“Stockton’s finest Nate Diaz is come to check out Suga Sean right?” The interviewer said before Diaz slapped him.

The short video of the incident quickly spread on social media and went viral. A lot of fans couldn’t figure out the reason Diaz slapped the interviewer. MMA On Point journalist Jason Hartley gave a little bit more context on what happened. He said the interviewer was previously bad mouthing Diaz’s friend and sparring partner Nick Maximov.

“So I am actually hearing the Full Send guy was saying derogatory things recently about Nick Maximov – a training partner of Diaz – and he wasn’t going to let that go. Diaz gonna Diaz.” Hartley wrote on Twitter.

Nate Diaz has been yearning to get his last fight and finish off his contract with the UFC. The 37-year-old has not given a fight since June of last year and the UFC hasn’t confirmed any names for his next opponent.

He has been calling out many potential fighters these past few months. Previously, he intended to have a trilogy with Conor McGregor. Then he called out old rival Dustin Poirier. The last one was a promising bout with Michael Chandler but had to be canceled due to Chandler’s injury.

The most recent rumor for his next opponent is the new welterweight star Khamzat Chimaev. The pair has been throwing insults on social media and it looks like Chimaev is willing to take on Nate Diaz before going after the champion Kamaru Usman.
