Muhammad Ali’s grandson wins PFL debut via KO

Biaggio Ali Walsh is the grandson of renowned boxer Muhammad Ali. He made a splash in his MMA debut on Friday night.

Biaggio Ali Walsh provided the spectators a memorable moment straight out of the gate. He gave a stunning knockout only 45 seconds into their amateur match with Tom Graesser as part of the 2022 PFL World Championship preliminary rounds.

Biaggio Ali Walsh improves to 2-1 in his amateur mixed martial arts career with the win. After losing the first fight of his professional career through submission, he went on to win his next two matches via first-round knockout.

Biaggio Ali Walsh is not the only member of the well-known family to carry on their tradition in combat sports. In a boxing ring, his brother Nico Ali Walsh has won seven consecutive matches while remaining unbeaten.

Biaggio Ali Walsh discussed the difficulty of having such a famous name during his  interview inside the PFL Smart Cage.

He said, “

100 percent. You know, the pressure, it’s gonna be there, but I talked to myself a lot. I maintain. I visualize. There are certain things I do to deal with that pressure. It’s gonna always be there and I think I handled it pretty well.”

Biaggio Ali Walsh discusses his walk-off victory and claims that it doesn’t matter what round it is as long as he defeats his opponent and raises his hand in the process.

“Anything can happen in a fight so, no matter if it’s the first, second, or third round, I just want to get the win. I’m trying to hurt him. He’s trying to hurt me. I’m trying to do the same thing. After I wrapped my hands, I felt my gloves and I was like, ‘Man, these feel like bricks.’ If it connects, it’s gonna hurt.”
