MrBeast Reflects On Physical Transformation After Losing 50lbs Since Last JRE Appearance

Jimmy Donaldson, known worldwide as MrBeast, appeared noticeably different during his recent sit-down on the Joe Rogan Experience episode #2527, and the conversation acknowledged it before cameras even started rolling.

The 28-year-old content creator revealed he had shed 50 lbs (approximately 22.7 kg) between his previous appearance on the podcast and this latest one, a transformation that Joe Rogan noted immediately.

“You look differently. I mean, you look great, man,” Rogan told him. “We were saying before the podcast, you look fantastic. You lost weight. You look really healthy.”

Donaldson confirmed what Rogan had already sensed. “I was telling Joe before the podcast I lost 50 pounds between the last one and this one,” he said.

The physical change was not the only shift Donaldson reflected on. Listening to the old episode on the drive over prompted him to think about how much he had grown in other ways too. He described the experience of hearing his younger self as both funny and a little uncomfortable.

“On the car ride over here, I was listening to a podcast we did, whatever, four years ago,” he said. “I look at that old podcast and it is so strange. I have borderline like autism on like this one subject, and I was so one-dimensional back then because I was just young and I had only ever done one thing.”

That one thing was YouTube, specifically the data and analytics behind it. Donaldson noted that during the previous JRE visit, every conversation seemed to loop back to the same place. “Every single thing I was like, ‘I don’t know, I don’t know.’ I was like one thing and one thing only. I know YouTube, and I know nothing else.”

He has since opened himself up to broader cultural experiences and credits that shift with making him a better storyteller.

“I think if I consumed more other mediums and culture, it would have been better inspiration. I would have been a better storyteller,” he said. “So I actually don’t think it was a good thing, which is why I have since then opened up and let more things into my mind.”

Rogan pushed back gently on that self-assessment, arguing that the tunnel vision served a real purpose. “I think it allowed you to be hyper successful because you were so focused on it,” he said.

Donaldson also pointed out the contrast between the two appearances goes beyond just perspective. He stated, “If someone were to theoretically search MrBeast Joe Rogan and they watched either one of these podcasts, it would be two completely different experiences.”
