MMA star back to hitting the bag months after catastrophic injury paralyzed him from the neck down

Former Bellator star Ryan Curtis has made a stunning comeback after a devastating injury left him paralyzed from the neck down. Just months after the unfortunate accident Curtis has taken significant strides towards regaining his mobility.

The injury, which occurred during a training session, required extensive surgery to replace the discs in his spine with titanium cages. Curtis’ close friends and teammates rallied around him, his partner, and his young daughter, providing unwavering support during this incredibly difficult period.

Fellow Bellator star and friend Leah McCourt went on MMA Hour to try and raise awareness about Curtis’ case and even Conor McGregor donated to help Curtis pay for his recovery.

Despite initial concerns that he may never walk again, Curtis has proven the power of determination and the healing process. In April, he shared a heartening update on his Instagram, revealing that he had been able to exercise on a cycling machine while lying down, just two months after the devastating prognosis.

Now, the latest video shared by Curtis on his social media platform showcases an even more remarkable accomplishment. The footage depicts the MMA star slowly but steadily hitting a heavy bag, walking uphill on a treadmill, and even lifting weights by sitting up without any assistance.

Reflecting on his journey, Curtis’ caption encapsulates the essence of his unwavering spirit: “Sometimes life sacrifices you for what you are, So that you can be what you can become. by don’t ever give up on yourself.”
