Boxing icon Mike Tyson Gave his pick for the forthcoming matchup between reality TV star Tommy Fury and Internet sensation Jake Paul.
On Sunday, February 26, Jake will compete in his first significant boxing match against a boxer of equal age, status and ability in Saudi Arabia. This contest also represents one of the most significant grudge matches.
The match has drawn interest from fans and combat sports athletes all around the globe, including the legendary Mike Tyson. He showed up at the news conference promoting the event on February 23.
In an interview with Boxing Social, Tyson disclosed his prediction for Paul vs. Fury. He made it clear that he supports Jake in this one.
Tyson said: “I never saw Fury fight. I don’t know — I don’t think he’s gonna be able to beat Jake Paul. Jake Paul, he’s getting better and better as he fights, and I don’t know if they brought him here to lose. So, we’re gonna find out.”
He went so far as to predict the outcome. Tyson said that he believes a knockout would occur.
He said, “Somebody’s getting knocked out. I don’t know who, but somebody’s going down, boo! Someone’s 0 has got to go!”
Tyson has often stated his support for the younger Paul sibling, so this is by no means a new occurrence. The renowned boxer has been standing up for Jake for many years. On Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2022, he stood up for Jake Paul against critics by saying that Paul had done “so much good for boxing.”
