Mike Tyson blasts unauthorized Hulu series for deceiving his friends into helping the show

A new series about Mike Tyson’s life is set to air on Hulu, however, the boxing legend has put them on blast repeatedly due to the fact that they’re producing it without his consent or cooperation.

The biographical series is titled “Mike” and is set to stream on Hulu later this month.

He first expressed his disdain Friday evening, “Hulu stole my story. They’re Goliath and I’m David. Heads will roll for this,” he tweeted.

He added: “Hulu’s model of stealing life rights of celebrities is egregiously greed #headswillroll”.

This Saturday, he followed up on his previous tweets by tweeting:

“Someone should get fired from Hulu. Producers were lying to my friends saying I supported the unauthorized series about my life”.

Tyson’s friend, and current WBC president shared that he’d been conned into cooperating with the production:

‘A fighter who was like a son to my father is @MikeTyson
I just spoke to him I’m so upset to learn that his upcoming series were produced without his involvement and consent The @WBCBoxing was mislead by @hulu
and we provided belts for production Mike Tyson Is a legend RESPECT’

This is not the first time the boxing legend has voiced his disdain of the upcoming series. After Hulu announced the series last February, Tyson was firmly against the project.

He gave an exclusive statement to Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, saying:

“[That’s] a flat out lie. My life rights option expired years ago. Hulu nor any of their supercilious team ever tried to engage in any negotiations with this Black man. In their eyes I am still just a ****** on the auction block ready to be sold for their profit without any regard for my worth or my family.”

Notable figures in the industry such as Dana White and Nate Diaz have sympathized with Tyson by refusing to promote the series during UFC broadcasts after being approached by the producers.

Tyson took to Instagram to reveal that White was offered millions to help promote the upcoming Mike series. According to Tyson, the UFC president turned down the offer in support of their friendship.

“Hulu tried to desperately pay my brother @danawhite millions without offering me a dollar to promote their slave master take over story about my life. He turned it down because he honors friendship and treating people with dignity. I’ll never forget what he did for me just like I’ll never forget what Hulu stole from me.”

Tyson announced last March 2021 that his own ‘authorized story’ starring Jamie Foxx was in the works.
