Michael Chandler welcomes 3rd child via surrogate

UFC lightweight contender Michael Chandler and his wife Brie have welcomed their third child, a baby girl named Dru Miller Chandler, born on March 31 through a surrogate.

The joyous announcement came via Brie’s Instagram, where she shared the family’s overwhelming happiness and gratitude toward their gestational carrier, Blair.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude to our sweet gestational carrier, Blair, who brought our daughter into the world. What a gift,” Brie wrote in her touching post.

Despite being less than two weeks away from his upcoming fight at UFC 314, Michael made the special effort to be present for his daughter’s birth, surprising his wife at the hospital.

“@michaelchandler surprised me by flying in during her c-section and I couldn’t stop crying – he is less than two weeks out from his next fight and our little world is full of wonderful chaos,” Brie shared.

The couple revealed that their daughter’s middle name, Miller, honors Brie’s late godmother, adding another layer of significance to this special moment.

Brie also expressed profound appreciation for their surrogate: “It takes a special human to carry another’s embryo. So thank you Blair for the selflessness and the wonderful woman you are.”

The post received an outpouring of congratulations from fans and fellow martial artistsalike, including a supportive like from Conor McGregor, Chandler’s once-planned opponent.

Dru joins siblings Hap and Ace, making the Chandlers a family of five. The boys were previously adopted by the couple, who have now expanded their family with the arrival of their daughter.

Meanwhile, Chandler’s professional commitments continue as he prepares to face rising British star Paddy Pimblett in the co-main event of UFC 314 on April 12 at Miami’s Kaseya Center. MMA analysts suggest a victory could potentially position Chandler back into title contention despite recent setbacks in the octagon.

Reports indicate that Chandler still has his sights set on a potential matchup with McGregor down the line, with plans to possibly issue a challenge following his upcoming bout with Pimblett.
