Marlon Vera tried to get buzzed from the ‘funny’ smoke in the San Diego arena during main event

UFC bantamweight star Marlon Vera talked about the distinct smell of weed he sniffed out during his entrance for the main event of UFC San Diego card. ‘Chito’ admitted that it was the best entrance he had in his life.

Marlon Vera scored another sweet victory at UFC San Diego yesterday. The Ecuadorian clashed with former champion Dominick Cruz and landed a brutal head kick that knocked Cruz out cold breaking his nose in process. This victory marked Vera’s 4th win making him one step closer to his first UFC title shot.

Their clash was fairly upsetting as Cruz was believed to be winning up to knock out. In the middle of the 4th round, Vera then surprised Cruz and everyone with a kick that landed right on Cruz’s face. The impact of the kick left Cruz fully unconscious and made him flat on the canvas.

At the press conference, Marlon Vera was asked about the vivid smell inside the Pechanga Arena. Vera played a reggae song for his entrance, complementing the atmosphere.

“Oh f*ck yeah. I was trying to get a hit of that. I was like ‘Woah I love it’. So, you know, that’s one of my favorite songs. Honestly, I never knew the song was going to hit, [but] this was the best entrance I ever have in my life.” Vera said.

He added, “Just everything around the Spanish town, I was just like ‘Holy sh*t this is a f*cking nice workout’.”

Malron Vera climbed the ranks and he is in line for a top5 opponent. It’s even possible that Vera could get his first UFC title shot in the near future. However, it might take longer as the current champion Aljamain Sterling is set to defend his title for the second time against TJ Dillashaw this October.
