Popular looksmaxxer Clavicular brought a Channel 5 News interview to an abrupt end after the interviewer stated that he was, more or less, content with the way he looks.
The interview had already been rocky before the now-infamous exchange. Clavicular repeatedly complained that the interviewer had not asked specific questions about looksmaxxing techniques, despite the fact that the conversation had touched on the subject numerous times.
His frustration reached a boiling point when he asked the interviewer directly: “When you wake up every single morning and you take a look in the mirror, you’re 100% satisfied with every single thing. Is that what you’re telling me?”
The interviewer responded: “Yeah, more or less.”
Clavicular replied: “Okay, dude. All right. I guess that’s just, if you want to be completely disingenuous, that’s fine with me. I guess there’s just no point to continue.”
With that, the interview ended.
Content creator AugustTheDuck, who has covered Clavicular previously, noted that he had once believed the looksmaxxer was leaning into controversy on purpose to grow his audience. This latest incident gave him reason to reconsider that theory.
He pointed out that Clavicular’s chat, watching the interview live on Kick, had also turned against him during the exchange.
In AugustTheDuck’s view, the root of the problem was not really about interview questions at all. He argued that Clavicular was thrown off balance by the simple fact that someone had claimed to be okay with his own appearance, something Clavicular appeared to find impossible to believe. Rather than accepting the answer at face value, Clavicular called it disingenuous and walked away.
“This guy ended an interview because he could not believe that somebody just is okay with the way they look,” AugustTheDuck said. “He thinks that if you say something like that, you have to be being disingenuous because that’s how he feels.”
