A growing chorus of voices is demanding justice following an incident that has sent ripples through the professional wrestling community. An online petition is calling for the arrest of Raja Jackson, son of MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. It has attracted nearly 5,000 signatures as public outrage mounts over his alleged assault on professional wrestler Stuart “Syko Stu” Smith.
The petition, directed at the Los Angeles Police Department, stems from a disturbing incident that was captured on video and livestreamed. According to witnesses and video evidence, Jackson delivered more than 20 unanswered punches to Smith’s face, with most occurring after the wrestler had already lost consciousness. The attack only ceased when other wrestlers physically intervened to drag Jackson away from Smith’s motionless body.
“The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed it has launched a criminal investigation into the incident, with potential charges under consideration, including felony assault and attempted murder,” the petition states. “Despite the seriousness of the attack and the clear video evidence, no arrest has yet been made.”
Adding his voice to the growing demand for accountability, Logan Paul addressed the incident on his Impaulsive podcast with uncompromising clarity. “He belongs in jail. I firmly, 10,000% believe he belongs in jail,” Paul declared. “Assault is an understatement. He tried to kill a man. And it was live-streamed on his Kick channel.”
Paul, who brings his own professional wrestling experience to his analysis, explained the fundamental breach of trust that occurred. “You’re in there trusting each other to put on a performance and make something look good and entertaining,” he said. “To completely go off script and try to f**king kill someone is insane. It’s criminal. It’s criminal behavior.”
The wrestling veteran painted a disturbing picture of what he witnessed, counting the relentless barrage of punches. “I couldn’t believe what I was watching when I saw the video. Twenty, twenty-one, twenty-two punches,” Paul recounted.
The situation becomes even more troubling when considering the circumstances surrounding the incident. According to Paul’s account, Smith initially believed Jackson’s approach was part of a scripted storyline. “Syko Stu thought that when Raja walked up, he was working in character,” Paul explained, “because he saw a camera and was building the bit.”
Paul believes that Smith’s background as an Army veteran who suffers from PTSD “makes this whole thing 100% worse.”
Paul also revealed that the incident may have been premeditated, noting that another wrestler allegedly encouraged Jackson to “get your receipt,” wrestling terminology that means to retaliate with real violence rather than staged action.
Even more alarming was Jackson’s behavior when others attempted to intervene. “A guy tried to pull him off and he was still fighting back! He was about to fight the guy who tried to pull him off!” Paul described. The intervention by wrestlers Douglas Malo and Elias Lopez may have prevented an even more tragic outcome.
“Dude, he low-key probably would have killed the f**king guy if he wasn’t yanked off. I thought I was watching someone try to commit murder. That’s what that video looked like.”
The petition signers echo Paul’s sentiments, demanding swift action from law enforcement. “We, the undersigned, urge the LAPD to act swiftly and decisively in this case,” the document states. “Stuart Smith and his family deserve justice. Our community deserves reassurance that violent acts will be met with appropriate legal action.”
As the investigation continues, the wrestling community and supporters nationwide await the LAPD’s next steps.
