Like attracts like? Bryce Mitchell wants to teach troubled boxer Ryan Garcia how to grapple

Bryce Mitchell, the UFC featherweight known for his eccentric personality and admirable grappling skills, has extended an invitation to rising boxing star Ryan Garcia to train with him. Mitchell believes he can help Garcia expand his combat sports repertoire and learn the intricacies of wrestling and submission techniques.

In a recent video, Garcia was seen grappling with his brother, Sean Garcia, hinting at his interest in exploring mixed martial arts. This comes amid speculation that Garcia may consider retiring from boxing at the age of 26 and potentially making the switch to MMA to prove he’s “the best fighter all around in the world.”

Mitchell, who has a reputation for his excellent ground game in the UFC, sees this as an opportunity to work with Garcia. “I got the best ground game in the UFC,” Mitchell said. “I’m in your weight class, brother. We can just box and wrestle, grapple, all of it, brother. Come over to the farm, hang out, we’ll eat steak, and train. So just let me know. I’ll take you fishing, whatever, dude. We’ll have a really good time.”

Mitchell emphasized his respect for Garcia’s boxing skills and expressed a willingness to learn from him as well. “I would learn to love boxing from you, too. So I have a lot of respect for you, and if you’re interested, come on, brother,” he said.

The invitation comes at a time when Garcia has faced some challenges in his professional and personal life. The undefeated boxer was recently banned by the World Boxing Council  due to controversial social media posts and has announced he will seek treatment.

Mitchell is no stranger to controversial social media posts having denounced dinosaurus’ existence and proclaimed his love of flat earth on multiple occasions.

Despite these setbacks, Garcia’s interest in exploring different combat sports disciplines, including wrestling and grappling, suggests he may be serious about expanding his skillset. Mitchell’s offer to provide guidance and training could be a valuable opportunity for Garcia to enhance his overall abilities.
