Leg locks don’t work? Thanh Le knocks out Garry Tonon

In a much anticipated fight – Garry Tonon has been defeated by reigning champion Thanh Le. ONE FC finally featured the delayed fight between bjj phenom Garry Tonon and current champion and it backfired on Tonon. Tonon – a leg lock expert went up against Thanh Lee of 50/50 jiu jitsu.

Tonon took to action right away and repeatedly tried to get the heel hook. However Thanh Lee kept cool and kept raining punches from above. Tonon was clearly out – and the referee Olivier Costa had no choice but to call it a day.

Thanh Le has been training with UFC fighter Ryan Hall – like Tonon, Hall is a heel hook specialist. Similar to Tonon, Hall recently got knocked out while trying to play the ground game in mixed martial arts. Hall’s record is 9 wins and 2 losses. He last defeated Derrick Minner via decision.
