Larry Wheels Jokes About Rampage Jackson’s Walk, Then Learns What Years of Competing in MMA Did to Him

During a live broadcast at a 7-Eleven with powerlifting star Larry Wheels, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson got called out for something nobody expected to become a serious conversation: the way he walks.

What began as lighthearted teasing quickly turned into a moment about the physical toll of a long combat career.

Larry noticed Jackson moving through the store and pointed it out bluntly. He said, “Rampage, did you notice that you walk like an uncle?”

He even offered a demonstration, mimicking a stiff, labored gait. “Can I demonstrate? Kinda like this. Is that not the uncle walk?”

Rather than brushing it off or getting defensive, Jackson responded with honesty rooted in experience.

“Try competing for 25 years in real life,” he said.

Larry followed up, curious about whether the walk had always been that way. He asked, “Did you always walk like that?”

Jackson shook his head and explained the reality behind it. He stated, “No, I have bad knees.”

Larry pressed further: “Does it hurt when you walk?”

When asked directly, Jackson did not sugarcoat the answer. He stated, “Oh yeah. Every step hurts, brother. Every f***ing step.”

“The whole world knows I can’t run now,” he said, half-joking but clearly aware of how much his body has changed since his prime. “We’re going to become a target. They know I can’t get after them now.”

The moment highlighted the reality many athletes face after decades in combat sports. Jackson’s career stretched from the late 1990s through the 2010s. During that time, he competed at the highest levels of MMA organizations like Pride FC and the UFC.

Along the way, he competed in punishing battles against some of the sport’s most dangerous competitors, including athletes like Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson, Wanderlei Silva, and Jon Jones.
