KPop Fans freak out after a mixed martial artist challenged a BTS member to spar

Korean boy band group BTS crossed paths with the world of mixed martial arts when an MMA professional threatened one of its members. The threat has caused a huge amount of anxiety among BTS fans.

BTS’ youngest member Jungkook recently shared a clip of himself training boxing. The video went viral and caught the attention of the South Korean-Japanese mixed martial artist Yoshihiro Akiyama. The K-1 Hero light heavyweight world champion challenged Jungkook to a boxing sparring session.

Jungkook’s trainer posted the same clip on his Instagram account where Akiyama commented “Next, tell me to spar.”

This call out has concerned many BTS fans around the globe. The fans,  called “Army” are known to be overprotective towards their idols, just like any other Korean pop fans.

Jungkook’s fan account on Twitter spread the call out news and many fans expressed their concerns in the reply.

“Omg help not official athletes liking his posts, praising him and wanting to spar with him. Hide my baby.”

“Big NO. Jungkook boxing only for his daily routine exercise. No to that.”

“Oh I’d love to see a friendly match only if kookie wants to. I feel like he’d be shy at first but he’d enjoy it nonetheless and the tannies would be like “heh you fought an MMA fighter wow you’re crazy dude” then proceed to act all injured when he pushes them even slightly.”

Yoshihiro “Sexyama” Akiyama is a professional mixed martial artist competing mostly in Asian promotions such as K-1 Hero and Dream. He joined the UFC in 2009 and battled the likes of Michael Bisping and Vitor Belfort. He left the UFC in 2015 and is currently competing in ONE Championship where he recently defeated Shinya Aoki.
