Khabib Nurmagomedov calls for boycott of Covington for pressing charges against Masvidal

Khabib Nurmagomedov likes to put forth this picture of himself as a very wholesome individual. Of course that fails to acknowledge the incident he instigated after submitting Conor McGregor. This is perhaps why the current legal issues of Jorge Masvidal touched close to home for Nurmagomedov.

Masvidal previously briefly addressed how McGregor used racial stereotypes in order to provoke Nurmagomedov during his post Ben Askren knock out press confrence.

But Masvidal is only painting one side of the picture in this talk – as Ben Askren so aptly put it, Masvidal too involved Askren’s kids in their press confrence.

Retired Bellator champion was quick to point out some holes in Masvidal’s posturing following the incident with Colby Covington.

“Imagine having 25 minutes to punch someone as many times as you want legally, but you can’t get it done so you gotta sneak up at the steak house ”

“The couple times I got beat up I just thought s–t that sucked I should trained harder or employed better tactics. Not let me sneak up and attack him on the street bc I have anger/insecurity issues.”

“Jorge also talked about my family so he is being a hypocritical terd on top of all else. Suck it up butter cup, you got whipped. It happens sometimes.”

Masvidal then went on to sort of apologize?

Askren replied to the quote tweet apology, if it can be called that
“Is this an apology or what is this Im very confused. Don’t need an apology, you said what you said. Im tough enough to be ok with it, I have thick skin.”

But where most go low Colby Covington goes lower – this is why he previously made claims about Dustin Poirier’s child in addition to Masvidal’s. Regardless of what’s said, a criminal act is a criminal act – or is it?

Here’s how UFC’s latest Hall of fame inductee reacted to the news of Masvidal’s arrest:

“If you are stronger than someone inside the octagon, it does not mean that you can insult his children. No one has the right to insult someone’s family. Once you have gone down this path, then be ready to back up your words. You were attacked by a professional fighter, the same as you are, your own size, and you go press charges against him to the police? I think all welterweights should refuse to fight Colby , just don’t accept fights with him, let him sit without a fight, it will probably signifinicantly affect him and all fighters who even think of insulting families, who is provoking the fighters to look for someone in restaurants to deal with him. ”
