Chilean authorities have successfully recovered and returned six luxury timepieces worth $125,000 that were stolen from actor Keanu Reeves during a sophisticated burglary operation that targeted high-profile celebrities across the United States.
The watches, including an engraved Rolex valued at $9,500, were seized during a police raid in Santiago, Chile’s capital. It has now been turned over to the FBI for return to the Matrix and John Wick star. Reeves personally identified the recovered timepieces as those taken from his Hollywood Hills residence during a December 2023 break-in.
The recovery came as part of a broader investigation into an international crime network operating between South America and the United States. During the Santiago raid, authorities uncovered not only Reeves’ watches but also stolen vehicles, iPhones, and designer handbags, revealing the extensive scope of the criminal operation.

“Reeves’ six watches are valued at a total of $125,000,” said Marcelo Varas, a police officer from Chile’s robbery investigation squad.
The timing of Tuesday’s announcement coincided with a diplomatic visit from Trump administration Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, who arrived in Chile for discussions about transnational crime. Notably, Noem herself fell victim to a similar crime when her purse was stolen at a Washington restaurant by a Chilean national residing illegally in the United States.
This case represents just one piece of a much larger criminal puzzle. The Chilean investigation has been coordinated with the FBI to tackle a series of burglaries targeting multimillion-dollar homes belonging to celebrities and professional athletes, including Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce.
The criminal network’s sophisticated operations have demonstrated the international nature of modern organized crime, with stolen goods crossing multiple borders before being recovered. In April, Chilean police announced the arrest of 23 citizens connected to this string of high-profile break-ins.
Authorities continue investigating potential connections between the theft of Reeves’ timepieces and other celebrity burglaries, suggesting the scope of this criminal enterprise may be even more extensive than initially understood.
