Kamaru Usman Got Scammed Out Of $60K

The reigning UFC welterweight champion revealed that he lost around $60,000 thanks to an attractive female investment advisor. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ revealed the story about his bad experience during a talk with GQ.

The event happened in the past when the p2p king just started his professional MMA career. Back then, Usman was just a novice investor and met with a female investment advisor that he found to be attractive. The woman convinced him that she would be able to make an investment for him, and Kamaru Usman got charmed.

Kamaru Usman trusted her with a $60,000 investment and immediately got scammed. Usman never saw the attractive woman ever again nor any of his money. He explained that his friend was the one to introduce the woman.

“Everything I always heard, ‘Yeah, you’ve got to put money in the market. You’ve got to invest in this; invest, invest.’ I’m like, ‘Alright.’ I didn’t really know what I was doing. So, a friend introduced me to some lady who invests for you. So, she approaches me. We had a conversation. We talk. She was attractive. Of course, nothing happened on that front.” Said Kamaru Usman.

He admitted that the woman lured him in nicely and he plainly trusted her. He added, “But she was attractive. So, it was very easy to be distracted. Give her about almost $60,000; haven’t seen that money since. Yeah.”

$60K was definitely a huge loss for Kamaru Usman back then. However, in the present, that number is nothing for the 34-year-old fighter. According to celebrity net worth, Usman reportedly has a net worth of around $3 million US dollars.  This is highly speculative – UFC fighters have to cover the taxes from their purse depending on which state the card takes place in. In addition to this Usman is represented by the infamous Ali Abdelaziz of Dominance MMA – he is rumored to be taking between 10% and 33% from a fighter’s paycheck in return for the representation.

As for Kamaru Usman- he has a line of fighters wanting to fight him. In 2021 he successfully defended his title 3 times against Gilbert Burns, Jorge Masvidal, and Colby Covington. As for this year, the UFC has confirmed that Leon Edwards will be the next challenger for the undefeated Kamaru Usman.
