Kamaru Usman answers taunt from kickboxing champ turned UFC debutante Cédric Doumbè

Cédric Doumbè is an esteemed kickboxing champion. He was previously at Glory and amassed an incredible record consisting of 75-6-1 (45 KO). Doumbè is 4-0 in MMA and determined to follow in the footsteps of Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya.

His MMA dreams were put on hold when his UFC debut at UFC Paris was derailed by politics. According to a local source, Doumbè wasn’t given an MMA license and this pushed back his debut in the promotion. He’s reportedly squared away the paperwork but still bears a grudge against MMA factory’s Fernand Lopez who is rumored to have played a hand there.

If you’re an MMA fan, you know that Cedric Doumbé is never one to hold his tongue when it comes to speaking about other athletes.

In particular, he loves to take jabs at the UFC stars in his welterweight division. Recently, the Frenchman once again made headlines by claiming that he could “extinguish” the entire division, including the former dominant champion, Kamaru Usman. However, the latter has now fired back with a bold response.

Kamaru Usman sat down with the media and brought up the Cedric Doumbé situation. The former champion first poked fun at the few MMA bouts in Doumbé’s young MMA career, questioning if he even competes.

Then, upon learning that Doumbé is competing in France at the MMA GP, Usman took another shot, calling it a “small show.” However, he did admit to knowing Doumbé from his kickboxing career and said that the Frenchman knows “where to find him” if he wants to meet up.

It’s no surprise that Cedric Doumbé was quick to respond to Kamaru Usman’s insolent comments. In a tweet, Doumbé made it clear that he’s coming for Usman and that the former champion should watch out. With both fighters now publicly sparring, it’s only a matter of time before we see if they actually do face off in the octagon.
