Jose Aldo claims he’s in negotiations with Mayweather a month after Mayweather denied reports

Former UFC and WEC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo, is already planning his next move beyond his upcoming boxing bout against Jeremy Stephens at Gamebred Boxing 4.

Aldo recently announced that he’s negotiating a boxing match with none other than Floyd Mayweather, which could take place in Saudi Arabia in the near future.

Aldo recently retired from MMA to focus on his boxing career. He made his professional boxing debut in December 2020, where he secured a unanimous decision victory over fellow Brazilian boxer, Michel Pereira. Aldo is now looking to prove himself in the ring by taking on some of the biggest names in the sport.

There have been rumors of Aldo and Mayweather prior but the negotiations didn’t seem to render any results.

Aldo once again revealed that negotiations for the Mayweather have been ongoing for some time. The Brazilian has his sights set on Mayweather.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has quashed rumors of an upcoming boxing exhibition against former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. In fact, Mayweather suspects that someone connected to his camp may have fabricated the claim following his commercially failed event against Love island alumni Aron Jeffreys.

“That was false information. That is not true at all. I didn’t say that [I’m not interested],” Mayweather clarified in an interview after his recent bout.
