Jorge Masvidal says he would love to wrestle Ben Askren and Askren is more than willing

Grappling phenom Ben Askren responded to Jorge Masvidal challenging him to a freestyle wrestling bout. Askren was sure that he would maul Masvidal when it came to wrestling.

Previously, the UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal appeared in an episode of Logan Paul’s podcast on Youtube. Jorge Masvidal revealed his desire to up his wrestling against former rival.

“Ben, I would f**king love to wrestle you in a competition. Like straight wrestling. I would do it. I’m going to sharpen my tools. I would definitely f**king do it. I would grapple him.” Masvidal said.

Ben Askren took to his Twitter account to accept the challenge. The 37-year-old demanded Masvidal to send a date and location.

“Send date and location. It would be a pleasure to rub his face in the mat.” Askren wrote.

The two met inside the octagon in July 2019 after an electric build up. Jorge Masvidal delivered  the fastest knockout in UFC history via a flying knee. Ben Askren got floored in just 5 seconds and the knockout made Jorge Masvidal a star.

Even though Ben Askren never really recovered from the loss, Masvidal can’t ignore Askren’s capability when it comes to freestyle wrestling. Ben Askren was the National champion and the 2005 Pan American champion in freestyle wrestling. He was also a two–time NCAA Division I national champion.
