Jorge Masvidal And Colby Covington Epic Friends Inspired Tribute

Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington are now sworn enemies, not so long ago they were two peas in a pod.

The beef between the two was rumored to have started when Masvidal was considered as a replacement for the title fight between Covington and Usman that fell through.

“The state of my relationship with Jorge Masvidal is, he’s the type of guy that when you’re doing something for him, yeah he’ll use you,” Covington told Ariel Helwani in a previous interview, per MMA News.

“As long as you’re doing better than him and you’re not helping him out anymore, then he doesn’t care about you. And that’s exactly what happened.”

“When he got beat up by Demian Maia and then I went in there and I completely destroyed Demian Maia in his home country, that’s when the relationship started to get a little bit different.”

UFC went on to facilitate Usman vs Covington for the welterweight title but Covington fell short. Masvidal meanwhile got his victory lap and new belt having fought Nate Diaz for the BMF belt in a rare headliner with no official title as the stake.

Covington and Masvidal both trained at American Top Team for a number of years – but allegedly Covington has been reluctant to pay for camp during preparation for Rafael Dos Anjos fight.

“He ripped off my coach, that was his coach. We were with him until his title fight. After he won the title, he owed him a certain amount of money, didn’t pay him,”

“I said if you don’t pay him I’m going to f—k you up. My coach got in between it, it doesn’t have to be like this, let it slide, since thing I ain’t talked to the dude.”

“It’s been about a year and some change. It is what it is. All these words they do have consequences because this guy used to sleep on my couch, used to eat off me cause I was the one with the sponsors.”

But thing have gotten way more bitter since then – thanks to another American Top Team member Dustin Poirier. Poirier has been a part of the team for a long time and has grown close to both. However once Covington had left the camp he had started slandering Poirier.

“Dustin you’re a f****** coward. Your wife’s a hoe and she has fake tits on her chest. And you’re a piece of s*** father,” Chaos told The Schmo.

Masvidal vs Covington is booked for UFC 272 on March 5 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
