Joe Rogan Slams Men Who Use Filters When They Take Selfies

During episode #2458 of The Joe Rogan Experience with guest Matt McCusker, the conversation unexpectedly turned to men using photo filters on social media.

The topic emerged when Rogan mentioned how “a lot of people have lights on their tables now to light up their face to make them look more pretty.”

These specialized lights, built into tables with openings designed to illuminate faces from below, helps create a more flattering appearance.

Rogan stated: “They have like a opening in the table and then a light that gets on you so you don’t see like the shadows in your face so you don’t look s**tty.

McCusker, seemingly bewildered by the concept, compared it to holding a flashlight under your chin to tell scary stories.

Rogan then talked about something he found even more concerning. “The weirdest s**t is men who use filters when they take pictures,” he declared.

Rogan also revealed that this was something he’d witnessed in his own professional circle. “There’s comedian men that use filters,” he confirmed, adding, “It’s very odd.”

When McCusker asked how Rogan could tell, the answer was straightforward: personal recognition. “You know what they really look like. And then you see them and they look like a cartoon,” Rogan explained.

The conversation then shifted to professional photo editing, with Rogan noting that Netflix applies filters to promotional images for comedy specials.

“Netflix does that with the pictures that they use when they promote your special, like the picture of you. They’ll put that b**ch through a filter and you look so pretty,” he explained.

McCusker then stated that the consequences become apparent after live performances. “If people see you after the show, you’re like, ‘You look horrible. I didn’t know you looked so bad.'”

Rogan responded with self-deprecating humor. “Thanks, man. I am so old. Yeah. I’m almost 60,” he quipped, before correcting himself: “It’s crazy. I’m 58.”
