Joe Rogan claims a red light bed fixed his eyesight

Podcast host Joe Rogan has made an eyebrow-raising claim about his vision improving through an unconventional wellness treatment. In a recent conversation with Theo Von, the popular media personality revealed that red light therapy has dramatically changed his eyesight, to the point where he no longer requires reading glasses.

“I don’t need reading glasses anymore,” Rogan stated during the discussion. He explained that he had previously struggled with close-up text, particularly when trying to read his phone, but those days are now behind him.

Rogan stated: “I needed reading glasses for a while. Like look at my phone. Like it was fine text. I don’t need it. I don’t need it at all anymore.”

The turning point, according to Rogan, came when he started using a red light bed. “I started using red light, a red light bed. It makes a giant difference man, really huge difference,” he said, attributing the improvement almost entirely to this therapy.

When asked directly if the red light was responsible for his better vision, he was unequivocal: “Oh yeah, 100%.”

Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, has gained popularity in wellness circles, though scientific evidence for its effectiveness on vision remains limited. The treatment involves exposure to low-level red or near-infrared light, which proponents claim can stimulate cellular function and promote healing.

Rogan doesn’t rely solely on the red light bed for eye health. He also takes supplements, specifically mentioning lutein and a product called macular support from a company named Pure Encapsulations.

However, he made it clear where he believes the real benefit comes from: “I think it’s the red light though more than anything, that was the big factor.”

The podcaster also touched on his sauna routine, describing the relaxing sensation afterward: “I feel like a little dumpling when I get out of there.” But he dismissed some of the more elaborate wellness protocols he’s encountered online, including detailed pre-sauna hydration schedules involving electrolytes and magnesium.

While Rogan’s testimonial is certainly attention-grabbing, medical professionals typically recommend consulting with an eye care specialist before attempting to treat vision problems with alternative therapies.
