Jake Paul got offered world title bout in boxing after beating Mike Tyson

Following his victory over Mike Tyson, Jake Paul has received a bold challenge from undisputed Light Heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev for a world title opportunity.

The 27-year-old Paul, who secured a unanimous decision win against Tyson with scores of 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73, caught the attention of the reigning champion Beterbiev, who took to Instagram with an intriguing proposition.

“What can you do in the ring against the current undisputed champion? Just know that I’m always open to any suggestions,” Beterbiev posted to his Instagram Story on November 16, responding to speculation about Paul’s next opponent.

Beterbiev, who successfully defended his WBC, IBF, WBA, and WBO Light Heavyweight titles against Dmitry Bivol in October 2024, represents the elite level of professional boxing that Paul has yet to experience.

Paul, now boasting an 11-1 record, expressed his championship aspirations in his post-match interview: “I’ve been in this sport for four years, I’ve been so active. If people want to see more then give me a couple more months. I’m going to accomplish more.”

He added, “It can happen in the next 24 months, I believe I can become a world champion within six years of learning how to throw a f**king jab. It’ll be the greatest sports story ever. The Cruiserweight division is pretty open.”

While Beterbiev’s social media challenge has created buzz in the boxing community, no official match has been sanctioned by any boxing organizations at present.

Meanwhile, following the Netflix-streamed event, which experienced technical difficulties with thousands of users reporting streaming issues during the main event, Mike Tyson indicated he’s not ready for retirement and suggested interest in facing Jake’s brother, Logan Paul.
