Jake Paul Agrees to Fight in Khabib’s Promotion – Under One Condition

Jake Paul is getting more serious about becoming a mixed martial artist and competing inside of an octagon. After defeating the former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley with a brutal knockout Jake Paul has been thinking of transitioning from boxing and moving into MMA. That or he’s playing the publicity game.

Regardless of how serious Paul is – MMA promotions are willing to play ball with the social media megastar. Recently, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle Fight Club offered Jake Paul to fight under their banner.

Eagle FC is a Russia-based mixed martial arts promotion company established in 2020 after Khabib bought Gorilla Fighting Championship. The first non-Russia-based event of that promotion is scheduled to take place later this month and will be hosted in Florida.

Khabib Nurmagomedov took to his Twitter account to give the offer to Jake. The UFC lightweight veteran replied to Jake’s tweet when he was talking about the weight he would fight at if he make his MMA debut.

“The doors of @EagleFightClub always open for you and your team.” wrote Khabib on Twitter.

The 25-year-old Jake Paul simply agreed to that offer with one condition. He wants to fight Khabib on his MMA debut.

There is no reply from ‘The Eagle’ regarding Jake’s condition. Paul was clever to offer this – no doubt knowing Nurmagomedov would be unlikely to be swayed by money. It’s also not clear what Nurmagomedov’s contract situation is with the UFC considering that retiring from the promotion is not the same as not being under contract with them any more – for instance Georges St Pierre is still under contract with the UFC in spite last fighting BIsping back in 2017.

Khabib Nurmagomedov was an undefeated fighter who specialized in ground fighting. After joining the UFC in 2012, the 33-year-old Russian won the vacant UFC lightweight championship in 2018 and defended it 3 times After fighting Justin Gaethje in October of 2020, Khabib chose to retire. Khabib Nurmagomedov has a clean professional MMA record consisting of 29 wins and 0 losses.
