Former UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev couldn’t resist taking a playful jab at his manager Ali Abdelaziz after learning about an eyebrow-raising expense for a simple haircut.
The Dagestani MMA star recently discovered that Abdelaziz paid a barber $200 for a house call to cut his hair – despite the fact that the prominent MMA manager sports a notably bald look. The revelation sparked Makhachev’s trademark dry humor, as he questioned the logic behind such an extravagant payment for what amounts to minimal work.
In a video that has since made rounds on social media, Makhachev can be heard expressing his disbelief at the situation. “A barber came to Ali’s house to cut his hair, and he says his haircut with travel costs $200,” the champion remarked, clearly amused by the absurdity of it all.
The UFC star didn’t hold back his confusion, directly addressing his manager: “I don’t know what you can quickly do for $200, Ali.”
What makes the situation particularly humorous is that Abdelaziz’s haircut appears to be nothing more than a simple machine buzz – a service that typically takes minutes and costs a fraction of what he paid.
Makhachev suggested that next time, he could easily handle the job himself with clippers, saving his manager a considerable sum of money in the process.
Abdelaziz has managed some of the biggest names in mixed martial arts through his Dominance MMA management company. The manager has been instrumental in guiding Makhachev’s career to the top of the UFC, where he’s considered one of the sport’s biggest stars.
