Irish MMA star tries to RNC ex after getting submitted in an MMA bout

An amateur MMA star from Northern Ireland, Carter Coulter, has been sentenced to jail after an altercation with his ex-partner, Dolores Gallagher, following his loss in a recent MMA outing.

Coulter, who was competing in his second amateur MMA bout was submitted by his opponent, Nicky Gordon, via D’Arce in the first round. Mere hours after his defeat, the star launched a vicious attack on Gallagher in her own home.

According to the news source, Coulter broke into Gallagher’s residence and proceeded to lock in a RNC on her, threatening to kill her with it. Gallagher, who also trains MMA, was able to escape the submission and run to a neighbor, who notified the authorities according to belfastlive.

Coulter pleaded guilty on July 3 at Craigavon Crown Court to charges of criminal damage, threats to kill, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was sentenced to a two-year term, with one year to be served in prison and the remaining year on license. The MMA trainee also received a non-molestation order until July 3, 2027.

Gallagher expressed her frustration with what she feels was a light sentencing for her ex-partner and attacker. She told Belfast Live that she still suffers from the injuries sustained during the incident.

Coulter’s actions were unacceptable and have rightfully landed him in legal trouble.
