Influencer Claims He Built Muscle Despite Not Eating For A Year

A social media personality named Michael Ferguson (mikeybreathes on Instagram) has been making waves online by claiming he has not eaten since July 25, 2025.

Speaking on camera, he stated: “The last time I ate was July 25th, 2025. That’s the last time I ate. It is now like February 19th, 2026. So, yeah. Like 200 something days ago. Almost a year.”

What makes his claims even more remarkable is that he says he has not only survived this extended fast but has actually gained muscle and improved his physique in the process.

According to Ferguson, his weight climbed from around 202 lbs (91.6 kg) to 212 lbs (96.2 kg): “My muscles have gotten bigger and they’re more filled in. My face is getting plumper and younger.”

The claims have drawn widespread skepticism online, with critics pointing out that the laws of thermodynamics make what Ferguson describes appear physically impossible. Building muscle while consuming no food contradicts basic scientific understanding of how the body acquires and uses energy.

Even elite bodybuilders who use every tool available to them, including eating large amounts of food while in a calorie deficit, still struggle to build muscle and achieve peak conditioning. The idea that someone could accomplish more by doing nothing at all simply does not hold up scientifically.

Additionally, critics have pointed out visible signs in Ferguson’s videos that suggest a different explanation for any physical changes. He appears to have gynecomastia, the development of breast tissue in men, as well as significant hair loss, both of which are commonly associated with anabolic st**oid use.

Ferguson sells a 350-page guide detailing his methods, regularly priced at $360 but currently listed at $170 on sale. Critics describe this as a cash grab aimed at people who are new to health and fitness and may not know better, blending just enough reasonable advice with unscientific claims to seem credible.
