Ian Machado Garry set to face Daniel Rodriguez at a UFC event in May

Irish MMA prospect Ian Garry is gearing up for the biggest challenge of his budding career when he goes up against welterweight contender Daniel Rodriguez at an upcoming UFC event on May 13.

With a perfect 11-0 MMA record, Garry has established himself as an up and comer. His upcoming bout against Rodriguez is expected to be a make or break moment in his career.

Ian Garry, also known as Ian Machado Garry, has looked impressive during his four UFC wins against Jordan Williams, Darian Weeks, Gabe Green, and Song Kenan.

Despite a few bumps along the way, he has maintained an unbeaten record and earned himself the label of a future world champion.

However, his upcoming outing against Daniel Rodriguez presents an entirely different challenge for Garry. ‘D-Rod’ may have suffered a submission defeat to Neil Magny in his last outing, but his record includes UFC wins over top-ranked guys like Li Jingliang, Kevin Lee, Mike Perry, and Tim Means.

Irish MMA fighter Ian Garry made headlines earlier this year when he tied the knot with his girlfriend Layla Anna-Lee in a Las Vegas shotgun wedding. The couple exchanged vows during Garry’s camp as he prepared to face off against Darian Weeks at UFC 273.

Although Garry’s performance in the octagon wasn’t what he had hoped for, he had exciting news to share in his octagon speech: his wife was pregnant.

Garry revealed that he and his 39-year-old wife were expecting a child at the end of the year. Despite their significant age difference (Garry is 24 years old), the couple was thrilled to be expanding their family.

After his victory over Gabe Green at UFC 276, Garry revealed another surprise: he had changed his name. During fight week preparation, Garry had informed the commentators that he would now be going by Ian Machado Garry.

Garry’s most recent outing at UFC 285 saw him face some adversity for the first time in his career. He was heavily dropped in the first round but showed tremendous grit and composure to recover and eventually stop Song Kenan in the third round.

His performance drew praise from UFC superstar Conor McGregor, who is a massive fan of Garry.
