Highlights: Erin Blanchfield RNCs Andrade at UFC Vegas 69

On last night’s UFC card, fans were in for a treat as two of the top-ranked flyweights battled it out in the main card. Jéssica Andrade, the former strawweight champion, was facing the surging 125-pound contender Erin Blanchfield.

Andrade was on a three win streak heading into the event, and her latest victories have been quite impressive. She knocked out Cynthia Calvillo in the first round and then pulled off a standing arm triangle on Amanda Lemos, a move deemed impossible by many.

In her last match, she won a unanimous decision over Lauren Murphy, proving her skills in the ring.

On the other hand, Blanchfield, currently listed as the UFC’s #10 ranked flyweight, is enjoying a seven win streak. In her four appearances in the Octagon, she won two decisions and snagged two submissions, showing her versatility in the ring. Blanchfield has a clear path to the titlewith a win against Andrade.

The former strawweight champion had no other option but to tap out. Blanchfield’s win is massive, proving that she is a force to be reckoned with in the flyweight division.

Blanchfield’s win was impressive and showed that she has what it takes to become a future champion. On the other hand, Andrade took this on short notice and might have to put in a full camp if she’s hoping to get to challenge Valentina Shevchenko for the belt in future.
