Gina Mazany Through the years

Gina Marie Mazany was born on August 19, 1988. She was in the capital city of Anchorage, Alaska.

When Mazany was younger, she competed in figure skating. Mazany completed her education at Bartlett High School. Mazany worked as a graphic designer after earning her degree from The Art Institute of Seattle.

When she was eighteen years old, she participated in her first combat sport, boxing. Soon after, she switched to mixed martial arts.

Prior to joining the UFC, Mazany established a 4-0 record. In 2016, she defeated Katie Halley to win the women’s bantamweight Alaska Fight Championship.

Mazany participated as a competitor in the TUF reality series in September 2013. The rival teams that year were Team Rousey vs. Team Tate.

Mazany competed against Julianna Peña in one of the 16 preliminary card. However, she lost the match after two rounds by unanimous decision.

In February 2017, Gina Mazany debuted in the UFC. At UFC FN: Lewis vs. Browne, she replaced Liz Carmounche and took on Sara McMann. But she lost the match in the first round, via submission due to an arm-triangle.

In November 2017, she competed in her second UFC match against Yanan Wu at UFC FN: Bisping vs. Gastelum. She was declared the winner of the match by a unanimous vote.

Mazany and Lina Länsberg squared off on May 27 at UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Till. She was defeated in the match via unanimous decision.

Next, Macy Chiasson and Mazany squared off at UFC 235 in March 2019. She was defeated in the first round by TKO.

The UFC released Gina Mazany on January 21, 2020.

In January 2020, Mazany competed against Valerie Barney at King of the Cage . She ended up winning the match in round one.

On June 13, 2020, Mazany competed against Julia Avila at UFC on ESPN: Eye vs. Calvillo. Mazany lost the match via TKO in the first round.

In November 2020, Mazany competed against Rachael Ostovich at UFC on ESPN: Smith vs. Clark. Mazany won the match via TKO in the third round.

At UFC 262, Mazany faced off against Priscila Cachoeira in May 2021. At the conclusion of the second round, she was defeated by TKO.

On April 30, 2022, Mazany competed against Shanna Young at UFC on ESPN 35. She was defeated by way of TKO in the second round.

It was announced that Mazany was released from the UFC in May 2022. Manazy’s UFC record at the time of her departure was 6 defeats and 3 victories.

In her first bout after her UFC release, Mazany faced Elizabeth Schroder in December 2022 at FAC 17. She ended up winning the bout via split decision.

Gina Mazany was married to her long time partner and UFC flyweight Tim Elliot. After several years of dating, Elliott and Mazany announced their engagement in July 2020.

But recently, Tim Elliott claimed in a social media post that the couple broke up. Elliot stated that his wife Gina Mazany had cheated on him with Kevin Croom, his colleague and training partner.

At Glory MMA and Fitness Gym, Elliott and Mazany worked out side by side with Kevin Croom while being coached by James Krause. Elliot recently shared a photo from his wedding day on Twitter, in which his wife is seen delivering their vows to their daughter as Croom is holding the microphone for her.

Living in the same city as his ex-wife and her new partner, Tim Elliot faced constant inquiries about their relationship. Questions about Gina’s well-being were asked in every interview, forcing Elliott to fabricate excuses to shield the two.

Elliott stated at the UFC Vegas 74 media day:

“The thing is, I was the only one wearing it. My ex and the person that she is with now, they were living in my city, dating, and being cool. Everybody thought we separated because she said I wanted to force her to move to Texas, I don’t even know what the reasons where, but it wasn’t the reasons that were the real reasons.”
